Lawrence Durrell is one of my favourite writers. The Alexandria Quartet made a big impression on me.

Good for you. I’m reading Hemingway’s ‘A Farewell to Arms’ now and next will be ‘Endurance, Shackleton’s Incredible Voyage’ (to Antartica). Generally, I like history and historical novels (American Revolution, American Civil War…gee, maybe it’s war I like)

I’m a big Hemingway fan. Haven’t read ‘Endurance’ but it sounds exciting. Might have to take a peek. I’m with you on the historical novels front, or maybe war disguised as history…
